French company Wello has launched its first solar-powered bike/car ride at cesat in Las Vegas in 2020, offering a viable alternative to cars for many city dwellers.

The Wello Family is a three-wheeled electric freight bike with a body appearance that gives it a car-like appearance while still being licensed to ride on bike paths.

 

The electric tricycle is 225 cm long, 85 cm wide, 175 cm high and has a maximum load of 80 kg or 800 litres.

In addition to the driver, there is an adult or two children who can ride in the back. The Wello series is equipped with batteries that can be recharged from the municipal electricity or with solar panels mounted on the roof. The range is said to range from 60km to 100km.

The Wello series is already available in professional versions and is expected to be available to the public by 2020.
