Segway-Ninebot has continued to build a number of new technology travel tools

Since its inception, Segway-Ninebot, the innovative balanced car brand, has continued to build a number of new technology travel tools, although initially with high unit prices in the professional field, but in recent years began to be affordable and people-friendly positioning to create products to make it easier for more people to have a more convenient way to live and travel.
Recently, Segway-Ninebot introduced a new technology, the Wheelchair S-Pod, which uses Segway’s top-notch stability technology to create a “moving dragon chair.”

 

Segway S-Pod Design and Operation

The S-Pod is said to have been inspired by the ball-shaped device used in the film Jurassic World to carry visitors moving around the park, while also referring to hover Chair in the animated film Wall-E.

Unlike stand-up scooters, the driver cannot tilt forward or backward to control direction and movement.
The S-Pod features an “adaptive center of gravity automatic control system” that allows the driver to easily adjust the speed and path speed by manipulating the knob to change the center of gravity in the pod.

The S-Pod can reach speeds of up to 38.6 km/h (24 mph) and can climb to a slope of 10 degrees, while the pod detects and stops the movement of the center of gravity to prevent it from tipping over.
Segway says its self-balancing technology will always keep the chair in a horizontal state, and the two-wheel design will facilitate rapid steering, changing direction even when it is stopped. Three small wheels can also be seen on the lower side of the chair, which may be used for movement and support when the S-Pod is not started.

Because of the uncertainty surrounding this product under current regulations, S-Pods are temporarily used in indoor spaces such as campuses, airports, shopping centers, theme parks, and so on.
