Why is it difficult for electric vehicle charging piles to reach third grade and fourth grade cities?

As the saying goes, the terracotur horse did not move grain and grass first. Now that the electric car market is booming, both international factories such as Tesla, BMW and GM, or mainstream domestic automakers, seem to recognize that electric vehicles will be the future. The biggest problem facing electric cars today is not performance, not price, but charging. Can not solve the problem of charging, consumers will be less motivated to buy electric vehicles, the number and intensity of charging piles determine whether electric vehicles can travel longer distances. So what is the development of electric vehicle charging piles in China? What other issues need to be addressed?

What is the main development of electric vehicle charging pile?

Who has the mounting body of the charging pile?

Under existing battery technology, electric cars often take hours to charge to fully charge their batteries. So if electric cars were to be widely available, the number of charging piles would be higher than at the current gas station. At present, the main body of charging pile construction is the National Grid, electric vehicle manufacturers, third-party service providers, individual owners of these four parts. State Grid is the setting of charging pile standards, and almost all Chinese brand electric vehicles are produced according to the national grid’s charging pile standards. The National Grid is the construction of a charging network and public basic charging facilities that rely on the layout of highways. Electric vehicle companies and third-party service providers focus on scenic spots, shops, office buildings, and the construction of charging piles in places with large population flows. Conditional owners will also install charging piles in their garages. The relationship between the four is like the bones, muscles, and blood vessels of the human being, non-disturbing, and interdependent.

Why are charging piles mostly distributed in big cities?

At present, electric vehicle charging piles are mainly concentrated in Beijing and Shanghai and other major cities. One is because the big cities in the case of licensing on the electric vehicle network open one side, licensing is convenient, so the sales of electric vehicles are very high. Second, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou three major cities electric vehicle manufacturers, such as BAIC, SAIC, BYD and so on. Third, the local government not only subsidizes the owners of electric vehicles, but also enacts measures to promote the construction of charging piles.

Therefore, charging piles are being promoted more quickly in big cities. In Shanghai, for example, 217,000 charging piles have been completed by the end of 2015, and the number of charging piles for new energy vehicles in Shanghai is planned to reach at least 211,000 by 2020. Covers housing, institutions and institutions, public transport, logistics, sanitation and other aspects.

Charging piles are government-driven and not yet fully marketed

Because the construction of charging piles requires a lot of capital investment, and the cycle of capital recovery is very long. So the construction of charging piles is seen as a loss-making business, with electric car makers like Tesla building charging piles as a service to stimulate consumers to buy electric cars, and the charging piles themselves won’t benefit Tesla. In addition, the construction of charging piles is also faced with the site managers do not agree, infrastructure is not matched and land difficulties and so on.

So electric car manufacturers are good, independent charging pile service providers are good, all want to rely on the government this tree. For example, in October last year, SAIC Group and huangpu district government held a strategic cooperation, announced the establishment of SAIC AnYue Charging Technology Co., Ltd., won the Huangpu District Government within the jurisdiction of the People’s Square, the Bund, the City Temple, Xintiandi, Dapu Bridge and other central areas of the charging facilities construction projects. This kind of government-led, enterprise-led way, is currently one of the main ways of charging pile construction.
